MNSGNA Fall Conference CANCELATION
Posted almost 4 years ago by Jill Bendiske-minor
After much consideration, the Minnesota SGNA Board of Directors is saddened to inform you that the decision was made to cancel the 2021 in-person fall conference. We were excited to be in person again as this conference provides an excellent educational opportunity for everyone. We looked at making this a virtual event, but the time frame did not allow us to make this happen for October 9th and 10th.
We heard from many nurses and employers that because of the increasing number of COVID cases, they would not be able to attend this year's conference. There was also the concern of a COVID exposure that would cause additional hardship for many amid staffing shortages and increasing hospital census. SGNA had also decided to cancel their fall leadership training program due to the increasing COVID numbers and hearing that many nurses were uncomfortable congregating for the event.
We realize that providing this educational opportunity is very important, so we are exploring alternatives to provide a comprehensive educational opportunity. Continue to watch for announcements on Facebook, the MNSGNA website and email for educational offerings happening soon.
We will be refunding tuition payments back to you in the way you paid. Our goal is to have the process completed by the end of the week. We hope you can join us for upcoming events and cannot wait to be in person again. Thank you for your understanding.
Respectfully,
MNSGNA
